Today was a really fun day, and it was also your first road race! University City has a Memorial Day run with a 10k, 5k, and 1-mile fun run and you've been eagerly excited to "win the race." (The beautiful pictures are courtesy of our friend, Charlie Berg, owner of Charles Berg Photography.)
It started with the 5k and you riding in the Bob. Mom and I pushed you in the jogger and ran a good race...
After that, it was time to pin on your official race numbers and have your pre-race snack. AnMei was number 284 an d JiaLi was number 285.
You've been to a race for me proudly waiving signs, and it was clear that your race would not be complete if we didn't have signs for you. Mom did a great job...
It was time to toe the starting line, and you were ready... You were adamant that you would be running the race by yourselves, which was awesome. However, since the route took you off through a neighborhood and out-of-site mom and I thought it was wise that I followed behind a few yards. It was a wonderful vantage point, watching you two running along the course having a great time together.

After the race you were tired little 4 year olds. But best of all, you were quite happy and proud of yourselves. And you should have been... you did great and it was a blast.
